Kort daarna maakte <u style="background-color:yellow;" class="">vincent</u> voor zijn neefje dit schilderij <u style="background-color:yellow;" class="">van</u> bloeiende amandeltakken: een <u style="background-color:yellow;" class="">van</u> de eerste tekenen <u style="background-color:yellow;" class="">van</u> een nieuwe lente. Theo en Jo ontvingen het doek in mei en hingen het op een ereplaats in hun appartement, boven de piano. </p> <p>On 31 january 1890, Theo wrote <u style="background-color:yellow;" class="">vincent</u> that his wife Jo had born them a son, whom they planned to name <u style="background-color:yellow;" class="">vincent</u> Willem. Shortly thereafter <u style="background-color:yellow;" class="">vincent</u> painted this picture of blooming <u style="background-color:yellow;" class="">almond</u> branches - one of the first signs of spring - for his new nephew. Theo and Jo received the canvas in early may, and gave it a place of honour in their apartment, hanging it above the piano. </p> <p>inv. S176 </p> This photo was taken on 23 june 2009 during a one-time exclusive photo session at the <u style="background-color:yellow;" class="">van</u> <u style="background-color:yellow;" class="">gogh</u> Museum in Amsterdam for the <a rel="nofollow" class="external text" href="http://www.wikilovesart.nl">Wiki Loves Art /NL</a> project.
